birthday question!

Happy Sunday y'all!

J's 29th birthday is the day after Easter which means it will be here in about a week!

I always have the hardest time surprising him with a present...I usually end up asking him what he'd like. So when that happens he already knows what he's getting which isn't much fun!

I thought that all you wonderful ladies might have some tips for birthday gifts :) Any ideas y'all have would be great!

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

What are his hobbies?

I was sneaky for Matt's birthday and actually got an item he told me he wanted for Christmas. I also have talked to Matt's best friend who helped me pick out a jersey!

I've been wanting to a scavenger hunt also. Probably just things around the house and outside that would lead to a bigger gift.

Coupons are fun, especially when you add your own little touch. The Christmas before last I made a bunch and they were "interactive" -- you had to open a little gift (by lifting a tab) to see what it said and so forth. Free baked goodies of his choice, let him chose dinner, etc. You could even do coupons that are a little bit sexier..

Surprise him with something at work? Get a bakery to send some cookies, cupcakes, or something along those lines.

Hope that helps. Let us know what you end up deciding!

boys are so hard to shop for! a couple of gifts i've seen lately that i thought would be good for my husband are monogrammed houseslippers/robe, a monogrammed toiletry case, tickets to a sporting event, or a weekend away! good luck and let us know what you get him! :)

It always helps when they have a hobby or two, so if he does, try to go with that. You can also do a themed gift. Take his favorite song, break up the lyrics with different gifts to signify each lyric you choose. One of the gifts could be the song on a CD with his image and his birthdate to commemorate his last year in the twenties.
Good Luck!

Your hubby's birthday is our anniversary! Sounds like a great day to me :)

My fiance usually just buys whatever he wants or needs, which doesn't leave me with any present ideas! I usually try to get him tickets to something. For example, he loooooves bull riding, so I got him tickets to the PBR rodeo when it was nearby. It's nice because he gets to relax a little bit and enjoy himself. I've got him concert tickets before, too.

Why are husbands so hard to shop for?? I try to get Dylan something that he's interesting in at the time. Or something related to that. I try really hard to surprise him but every single time he guesses it. It's weird how he guesses things, but I usually ask him what he wants and throw in some other things that he didn't say.

Good luck!

I know my best friend/roommate's birthday is coming up and I've exhausted all fun and surprising ideas with her but the morning of her birthday I'm going to decorate the bathroom because it's the first place she obviously goes to in the morning and making her breakfast to come down to in the morning! It'll be a perfect start to her birthday day :)

I would plan something fun that he likes to do. For example, my fiance loves outdoors, so when I surprise him I like to do something fun like a road trip or something. Have fun!

i always use gifts.com and fill out the personality thinger to find some great gift suggestions -- they always help to get my brain going!

i also love stalking groupon and living social to find fun 'experiences,' or gifts we can do together.

my formula is usually something they want, something they need, and something we can do together! best of luck - can't wait to see what you find!

Husbands are really hard to shop for. Ugh.
Maybe you could buy an iPad, or a new cellphone, or a book, or give him something handmade or cook some special meal for him... Does it help?

I take notes around his birthday time, I'll take him to best buy and other boy places and just listen to him, lol. Sneaky sneaky.

My ideas:
1.Tickets to a concert or sporting event.
2. Gift certicifate for lessons- golf lessons or something he is into.
3. Magazine subscription to a new magazine.
4. Dinner reservations to HIS favorite place with a movie of HIS choice to follow.
5. My biggest hit with Stuart was a membership to a Beer of the Month club at our Liquor Barn where he got to try different beers from all over the world! Not sure if that is up J's ally or not, but find something he likes and go with it.

Men are the worst! Just like buying a gift for your dad... it sucks! I just give him money and he normally goes to Best Buy! lol

With the gorgeous weather, any outside date would probably hit the spot! Hiking, picnic, etc :)

My hubs is kinda hard to shop for, so I like to do a bunch of little surprises. Last year, I took him out for dinner, and bought him some stuff to give him a relaxing massage. Happy b-day shopping!

I think, in general, that guys are more difficult to buy for. My hubs loves experiences more than things. I've given him a gift certificate for two to go zip lining. This year, I gave him a road trip of his choice--just for a weekend. He also loves days at home, so I've given him a Saturday at home--just us. We play video games of his choice and I cook all of his favorite meals that day.
