Happy Tuesday and first day of February y'all!
So I've been pretty busy at school since the principal moved me to teach
FIRST GRADE!
Long story short, the teacher who taught this first grade class was having some problems so the principal asked if I would mind moving down to first grade to teach the little kiddos :)
I have to admit...I was SCARED, NERVOUS, and just a little bit OVERWHELMED!
I teach 12 EIP (Early Intervention Program) students which means that they are at risk of not reaching or maintaining skills on their academic grade level.
They are such a sweet group of kids and I pray that we can all work together to get them back on track to passing first grade!
I'm trying to make the room my own while trying to make it through the day :)

I'm so excited for you, Jamie! When I think of a first grade teacher, you are the picture of perfection! I am sure those children love you and I know your positive attitude will give them the encouragement to try their best and get back on track! So, so, SO excited for you! :)

I secretly want to try first grade. SHHHHHHH don't tell my principal. I am afraid he would move me and I would hate it. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

WOW! What a great opportunity! I used to work with at-risk kids (elementary school counselor) and fell IN LOVE with so many of them! I hope that you have the same rewarding experience that I did!

Aw how awesome! I bet it was scary- I'd freak out if my principal all of a sudden asked me to move grades! But I'm betting you'll do a fantastic job. :)

This is exciting, but I can see the stress involved. I'm an education major and cannot even imagine stepping into someone else's classroom midway thru the year and taking over! I'm sure you will be great! Good luck girl!

Aww...I am sure you are WONDERFUL!!! I just know that any kiddos would be lucky to have you for their teacher! Hope it is a great position for you! Perhaps it is just where God wants you to be right now.
First graders are so precious, but I know it's going to be a challenge with those 12 particular students. Good luck!! You can do it!
