that's what i love about sunday.

Happy Sunday!

We've had a wonderful weekend full of relaxing, spending time with family, and celebrating our 8 month anniversary :)

Before I play along with MannLand5 and Getting to Know You, I just want to wish my Papa a happy birthday!

Papa would have been 95 years old today. He past away 5 years ago and I still miss him terribly. He was the best grandpa ever!

Now on to a few little questions...

To play...grab the questions...copy them onto your blog...answer them...come back here...put your link in and let the Sunday Fun begin!

The questions..

1. Do you iron your sheets?
That's a big negative! There's really no point to iron them.

2. Your dream car is....?
Hmmm...I'm not too big on cars. I have a 2000 Honda Accord so maybe I'd just like a newer Accord.

3. Do you have an innie or an outie belly button?
innie.

4. What meal do you look forward to the most..breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Definitely dinner...or supper as we call it in the South. I'm not much of a breakfast person and don't eat much for lunch. We look forward to and plan our dinner menu every week.

5. Favorite mascara?
I've been using L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in blackest black for years. It's great!

6. What would you say your decorating style is..traditional, modern, eclectic, country, french country, shabby chic, etc..?
I'd say it's a mix between traditional with a little bit of modern and eclectic thrown in there.

7. Have you ever been skinny dipping?
Not recently...only when I was little.

8. I hate the smell of...?
Cantaloupe. Gross!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

finally friday!

This week crept by at a snail's pace.

I'm so glad that it's Friday and am so ready for the weekend! Standing on my feet all day in P.E. sure made me tired!

When I talked to J earlier, he said he had plans for us tonight but he wouldn't tell me what they were. Hmmm....wonder what's up his sleeve?!

Tomorrow is our 8 month anniversary! Eight months sure has flown by. I can't believe in four months we'll have been married for a year :)

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday and has a wonderful weekend!

thursday thoughts.

Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone has been having a great day :)

Mine sure was tiring! I had to sub in P.E. today and boy did that wear me out!

Even though, as a teacher, we're up on our feet all day, I feel like I was more tired today that I normally am. The kids had fun playing games like bean bag toss, jumping rope, hula hooping, and riding on floor scooters. I have to be in the gym tomorrow...but at least now I know what to expect! Lots of fun :)

Even though winter is around for another couple of months, I can't wait for spring!

Since I'm so ready for what may be my favorite season, here are some pretties that make me even more excited :)

menu monday.

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone's week has started out great :)

I've spent mine running errands.

I had to go to the meat market, the grocery store, and the dry cleaners.

Here's my weekly Monday post...our menu for the week!

Monday
chicken
black beans
yellow rice

Okay....so it seems like we have this every week! It's just so quick, easy, and yummy!

Tuesday
pork chops
mashed potatoes
green beans

I got the pork chops from the meat market. They are very thick and were only like $3 for two of them.

Wednesday
pizza
Caesar salad

We like DiGiorno thin crust pizza and this Caesar salad

This meal may not be the healthiest of meals but it takes all of 15 minutes to make which is good for this night because I have to go to a new member meeting for my college sorority. I'm the new member advisor and the girls had a spring rush so I have to go meet all the new girls :)

Thursday
steak
baked potatoes
corn on the cob

Like I said, this is J's favorite meal! It all turns about so great on his grill :)

Friday
white chili

J made this for my fam while we were home for Christmas. He used this recipe and even though it was a little spicy for my taste it was still delicious!

I'm so glad I have a hubby who likes to cook and who is good at it! I'm not the best in the kitchen :/

The lines from Kenny Chesney's "The Good Stuff"reminds me of how our meals would be if I cooked every night...

"And it's the way she looks with the rice in her hair.
Eating burnt suppers the whole first year,
And askin' for seconds to keep her from tearin' up."

So...like I said, I'm glad J is such a great cook!

Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday!

sunday funday.

Happy Sunday friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. We spent ours relaxing at home-home.

We didn't get home until after 10:00 Friday night and hit the hay soon after that.

On Saturday, we woke up and got ready for the day. We went to the jewelry store in town so that I could get two clamps for my Pandora bracelet.

Now my charms won't be all loose on my bracelet :)

We also picked up some of our china that we ordered a few months ago to complete our set.

Now we have our complete set of Tin Can Alley :)

After the jewelry store, we went up to my Mimi's. My aunts, my cousin and her fiance, and my mom were all there. We then all went to get lunch at this yummy barbecue restaurant. After lunch, we visited with the fam and then went home and watched some tv before going back out for supper at the Mexican restaurant in town. After supper we rented The Perfect Getaway which kept us on the edge of our seats!

Today, we left right after lunch for the three hour drive back home. I've already unpacked and J's been watching the Jets vs. the Colts. We just got back from IHOP and now J and his friend are watching the Saints vs. the Vikings.

I've been doing MannLand5's Getting to Know You questions for the past few Sundays.

To play...grab the questions...copy them onto your blog...answer them...come back here...put your link in and let the Sunday Fun begin!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The questions..

1. Waffles, pancakes or french toast?
I had been craving breakfast food since last night and we just got back from IHOP and I had blueberry pancakes which were delish!

2. Dream home..What would it look like?

Something like this...
1260_Elev_550.jpg picture by jamiejudy

I love little bungalow/craftsman styles houses.

3. Favorite sport to watch during the Winter Olympics?
I don't watch them much but I guess I'd have to say figure skating.

4. The first word that comes to mind when describing yourself?
caring.

5. Dresses, pants (jeans, leggings, etc.) or skirts?
I love wearing dresses...especially in the spring and summer.

6. What is your favorite time of day?
Whenever J gets home from work :)

7. Beach or Mountains..which do you prefer?
Oh gosh...I love them both! I love going to our mountain house but I also love laying on the beach and getting a tan!

8.Will you watch the Super Bowl?
I don't care much for the NFL but I'm sure I'll watch it. I love the commercials :)

Hope everyone has a had great weekend and has a great start to their week!

five question friday.

Happy happy Friday!

We're heading home-home after J gets off work :)

So to pass the time, I thought I'd play along with Five Question Friday.

1. What is better, growing old with out money or dying young and wealthy?

I'd love to grow old with money but since that's not a choice, I'd choose growing old with not a lot of money.

2. Who takes out the garbage at your house?

We both do. However, it seems like I take it out more because I'm always cleaning the kitchen and will just run it outside to the garbage can.

3. Have you ever had the same dream many times?

Yes! It kinda freaks me out! One time, my mama and I had the same dream on the same night....really weird.

4. Can you play a musical instrument?

I used to play the piano when I was younger and then I didn't want to practice any more sooo I stopped. I always wish I had never quit :( But I can still play some simple songs.

5. If you owned your own store, what would you sell?

Hmmm.....I'd love to have a store that sold personalized stationary and invitations.
Or maybe an ice cream parlor.
Or a bakery.
Or a cute little clothing boutique.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday and has a wonderful weekend!

thursday thoughts.

Happy Thursday!

Only one more day until the weekend :)

We're going home-home this weekend so I'm pretty excited about that.

I have a few random thoughts on my mind today so here they are!

Yesterday was my Mimi's birthday. She celebrated 86 wonderful years!

On another note, I am in love with these dresses!

I sure don't need to spend any money but they are all just too presh!

Although I didn't need this, I went I got a cookie dough blizzard from DQ today.

It sure was yummy though!

J should be home in about an hour or so :) We'll cook supper and then watch Grey's and Project Runway.

Hope everyone is having a terrific Thursday!

the three monkeys.

I only have two first cousins on my mom's side of the family and we've always been super close.

My cousins are sisters and the oldest one and I are only 7 weeks apart and then the younger cousin is about 15 months younger.

We grew up doing pretty much everything together and they were both my maids of honor :)

Since we were attached at the hips when we were younger, people would call us the three monkeys.

So here are just a few pics I could find of us...

tuesday's ten.

Happy Tuesday friends!

I decided to copy Brit over at Dave and Brit Plus One and play along with her Tuesday Ten: Things I Can't Live Without.

So here are 10 things that I just can't live without...

1. My family. Just love them :)

jamithan-18-copy.jpg picture by jamiejudy
This is a recent pic our wedding photogs took at my parent's house.

2. My BlackBerry. I've had one for a couple of years and don't know what I ever did without it!

3. Bare Minerals makeup. I've used this for a few years and, like my BlackBerry, don't know how I used anything else. It's great!

4. My hobo wallet. Love this! It's big enough to fit lots of cards/money/change or your lip gloss. I use it as my wallet but could definitely be used as a clutch.

I have this one but in brown.

The inside is the best part :)

5. Sweet tea. Being from the South, it's a given that sweet tea is a part of my day. J could live off of sweet tea! I've been trying to cut down on the amount of sugar though.

6. Chocolate. I seriously have to have a little bit of chocolate every day! We still have some Hershey kisses left over from our Christmas stockings that I've been working on. When those are gone...I'll have to find something else chocolaty to snack on!

7. My little Daisy. She is like our child! She sleeps at the end of our bed every night :) I just hate when I have to leave her during the day but it's always great when I come home and she is there to greet me at the door.

8. Music. I am far from a good singer, but I love to sing! I like pretty much all kinds of music (except for those that I can't understand what the singer is saying!) and will sing along even if I don't know the words :)

9. My go to comfy around the house outfit. Whenever I get home from work or am just lounging around the house, I always seem to put on this Dave Matthews shirt and a pair of my comfiest black lounge pants.

DMB Bird in Tree Shirt

10. My wonderful husband. J is the best man I could have asked God for to be my husband. He's caring, sweet, funny, friendly, hard working, smart, a great listener, gives the best advice, and is absolutely adorable :) I love you, J!

Looking oh so cute on our wedding day :)

So there's 10 things I can't live without...what can't you live without?

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday!

menu monday.

Our long weekend flew by as usual!

We spent it relaxing, watching Meet Me in St. Louis, going out to eat with J's brother and his fiance, getting new cell phones, and doing a little shopping.

Here's our menu we planned for this week:

Monday
pizza

We had some leftover pizza so we figured we better go ahead and eat it tonight. J got the pizza at this meat market in our town. He got it because it was like the kind we used to eat in elementary school. It's hard to describe what it's like but it's really good :)

Tuesday
baked chicken
broccoli
basmati rice

We seem to have this every week but it's just so good! And it's not too, too bad for you.

Wednesday
grilled pork chops
mashed potatoes
corn on the cob

J is grilling the pork chops and corn on his favorite new grill. To make the mashed potatoes we bought a bag of red new potatoes and will mash them up and add a little milk or, what J likes to use, ranch dressing.

Thursday
chicken
black beans
yellow rice

Another one of our favorite meals. J cooked the yellow rice last week since I seem to always burn it!

Friday
We didn't plan anything for Friday because we talked about going home-home for the weekend. But we're not too sure yet.

Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday! I know we are...it's a perfect 65 degrees and sunny day!

P.S. And just because I don't want to post without a picture, here's one from our rehearsal dinner.

(please disregard the classy Solo cups :) )
