wedding abc's.

Happy Friday y'all!

Since our two year anniversary is on Monday, I thought it would be fun to do a little wedding post :)

I saw this over at Greer's Gossip a while back and thought it was the cutest post :)

Here are our wedding ABCs...

Attending:
I'd say we had about 150 - 175 guests.

Bridesmaids:
I had 7 bridesmaids...both my cousins were maids of honor, my three roomies/sorority sisters, a college friend, and J's stepsister!

Catering:
My college friend's mom and dad have a catering company and they did an awesome job and gave us a great discount!

Our cakes were made by a family friend who did a great job!

Dress:
I loved my dress! It was a strapless, ivory Casablanca with beautiful beaded detailing :)

Engagement:
J proposed on December 22, 2007. We were engaged for a year and a half before we got married on May 30, 2009 :)

Flowers:
Our flowers were done by friends of my mama who have had a flower shop for years. My mama and grandma used to own a flower shop so they knew these florists would do a great job :)

Groomsmen:
J had 7 groomsmen as well with his brother was his best man. My brother, his 2 step-brothers, 2 childhood friends/fraternity brothers, and his little brother in his fraternity.

Honeymoon:
Since I'm a BIG baby and didn't want to fly or leave little Daisy for a whole week, we had to go somewhere where we could drive and that was pet friendly. We headed down to the Florida Keys to Islamorada :) We had the best time!

{our honeymoon house :) }

{at mile marker 0 in Key West}

Invitations:
Our invitations were very simple and classic :)

Justice of the Peace:
I suppose this means the preacher. Our preacher was J's childhood preacher...Brother Bobby!

Keepsakes:
As a keepsake for us, we had guests sign a picture book of our engagement pictures. It now sits on our coffee table and is always fun to look back through :)

Our guests' keepsakes aka favors were candy bags from our candy table :)

Ladies Night:
We had my bachelorette weekend in Savannah and had the BEST time!

Music:
Our wedding music was pretty traditional. My friend/bridesmaid has a beautiful voice and sang a couple of songs :)

For our reception, we had two of J's college friends/fraternity brothers play and sing. They did a great job!

Newleyweds:
I still consider us newleyweds :)

Old, new, borrowed, blue:
My something old was this beautiful brooch that J's mother gave me. It was her grandmother's :)

My something new was my dress...

My something borrowed was very random...as I was getting ready that morning I realized I didn't have anything borrowed so my friend let me borrow her toe ring. SO random since I've never worn a toe ring but it worked!

My something blue was another last minute decision. We ended up tying a blue ribbon on the inside of my dress.

Photography:
We LOVED our photographers! The Smitten ladies did a fabulous job on our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures :)

Our photogs were the best but there was still one mishap...some of our pictures wouldn't transfer from the memory cards to the computers! You can more read about that here. But good things do come from the bad and we got to retake some pictures which was fun! What a great excuse to put back on my wedding dress and jump on beds :)

Question popping:
My sweet J had the BEST proposal if I do say so myself! You can read all about it HERE!

Reception:
As long as I can remember I wanted to have our reception in my aunt's backyard. She lives right by my parent's house and has a beautiful view of her pond :) We were so blessed to be able to have it there and it will always be a wonderful memory!

Shoes:
Since J's not much taller than me I didn't wear high heels. I opted for a white kitten heel :)

Trash the Dress:
Nope...it's still hanging in my room at home-home.

Unique:
Hmmm...I guess it's not really that unique but we saw each other before the wedding and I'm SO glad we did! It was such a special moment to spend together :)

Another fun and unique part of the reception was that my mama and daddy surprised us with our engagement bench along with some pictures from the proposal!

We also had fireworks at the reception which was a HUGE surprise! My mama had this wonderful idea and J's dad and his friend helped pull it all off :)

Vows:
We recited traditional vows.

Wedding Woes:
Our wedding week began with a LOT of rain! I was worrying about the reception since it was going to be outside and people would be parking in a field :/ Luckily, it didn't rain the day before the wedding or on the wedding day!

X-rated:
No way Jose'!

Young kids:
We didn't have a flower girl or a ring bearer. There were a couple of cuties at the reception though :)

Zzzzz:
We were exhausted after such a long and wonderful day! We left the reception around midnight and stayed at a B&B on our wedding night :)

It's always so fun looking back at our special wedding day!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!
