six months ago...

...I was getting married!

I can't believe we've been married for six months!

In some ways it seems like we've been married for much longer and sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday that we got married.

I'm so thankful that that God sent J in my life for us to be together for the rest of our lives.

I have so many reasons why I love J and why I am so blessed to have married him.

I married him for his love for his family and my family.

I married him for the best hugs and kisses he gives me.

I married him for his smile and his laugh.

I married him for the way he can always make me smile.

I married him for his sense of humor.

I married him for the way he can talk to anybody.

I married him for his intelligence.

I married him for all his hard work he does for us.

I married him for his outgoing personality.

I married him for the little things he does for me.

I married him for loving to cuddle on the couch and to sleep in on the weekends.

But most importantly, I married him for his undying love for me.

I love you hubby! Happy 6 month anniversary!

these are days.

This song just makes me happy :)

These are days you'll remember.
Never before and never since, I promise,
will the whole world be warm as this.
And as you feel it, you'll know
it's true that you are blessed and lucky.
It's true that you are touched by something
that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days you'll remember.
When May is rushing over you
with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour.
You'll know
it's true that you are blessed and lucky.
It's true that you are touched by something
that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days.

These are the days you might fill with laughter until you break.
These days you might feel a shaft of light make its way across your face.
And when you do you'll know how it was meant to be.
See the signs and know their meaning.
It's true, you'll know how it was meant to be.
Hear the signs and know they're speaking to you, to you.

what a day!

Whew! Not only has this day been long this week has been too! I can't wait for tomorrow to come and go...then my week long Thanksgiving break can begin :)

Sooo here are a couple of random things on my mind...

I really want to get John Mayer's new CD. Take a listen this song from "Battle Studies." So good!

I'm also sick and tired of taking these things up from my first graders!

They're called Bakugan's and all the little boys bring them to school and play with them during class. I have a whole box of them!

J and I are also going to TJ Maxx when he finally gets home from work. I just love looking around and can hopefully find some fun Christmas decor!

Aaaand I can't wait to watch Grey's and the season finale of Project Runway tonight!

Hope everyone is have a great Thursday and just think...Thanksgiving is only a week away :)

weekend wrap-up!

We had the best weekend! Here's a little recap of the weekend :)

Friday
I picked up my friend from the Savannah airport around 7:00 and it was SO good to see her! After she got married in June, she moved to Nebraska to be with her hubby who is in the Air Force. We came back home and went to dinner and spent the rest of the night at the house just talking and catching up :)

Saturday
We woke up and went to an alumni brunch at our sorority house for Homecoming weekend. We then picked up lunch and met J and his friend who came into town at our tailgating spot.

the game was a blue out game so everyone wore blue :)

me and J.

best buds.

The game was awful...we lost! But the weather was perfect so that was a plus :) After the game, we came home to relax before going out to our fave Mexican restaurant. When we came home, Jessica and I watched "The Proposal" which was super cute!

Sunday
Today was picture retake day :) We got up around 8 to get ready and were on the road to Savannah around 10:00. We met up with the bridesmaids and the photographers and had the BEST time taking pictures in historic Savannah and in the squares. I'm sure we got some fantastic pics and can't wait to see them :)

After pictures, we all kind of went our separate ways. J, Jessica, and I went to browse around a couple of shops and then to eat watch Jessica calls "linner"...a late dinner!

We finally made our way back home and I had to grade some papers, then go to the grocery store, shower, and watch Desperate Housewives.

We had the best weekend hanging out and having fun!

Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday!

wonderful weekend.

The weekend is finally here! This is been the longest week EVER!!!

And we're about to have a super busy weekend.

It's homecoming at our college which will be fun and we also have to retake some wedding pictures. Yes...you heard me right. Retake some pictures.

I'm picking up my old roomie/bridesmaid/sorority sister from the airport in Savannah around 6:45 tonight. Y'all, she lives in Nebraska with her Air Force hubby and is flying all the way back home to be here this weekend!

We're planning on going out to eat tonight and then who knows what. On Saturday, we're going to our sorority alumni brunch and then headed over to tailgate for the game which is at two. Later on Saturday night, my cousin will be coming into town from Tallahassee. Then, on Sunday we're all going to Savannah to retake this pictures that I speak of!

So...what had happened was...a couple of weeks after the wedding we got a call from our photogs about our pictures. They said there was a problem with one of the memory cards but that they were trying to fix it. After sending it off to some place that can sometimes retrieve files from corrupted discs they were were only able to get a few off the disk (like some portraits of me, J, and a couple of us before the wedding).

Soooo pretty much all the good pictures were lost...pictures of me and J, me and my bridesmaids, of us and the entire wedding party, and family pictures! Needless to say I was pretty upset!

But at least our private reveal (pictures of us seeing each other before the wedding) were all there! That's something you just can't recreate...that special time of seeing the one you love before marrying him!

(Y'all, just looking at this pictures of us seeing each other makes me so teary eyed! I'm so glad I saw J before the wedding :) )

Our photogs were extremely upset and of course said they would do anything to make it up. So after almost 6 months of marriage, we finally have the time to retake the pics! They are meeting us in beautiful Savannah so we can take pics of me and J and us and the girls. The pictures of J and his groomsmen were not lost so that's a good thing! It'd be hard to get a bunch of boys and tuxes together to pose for the camera!

Along with taking pics of us in Savannah, our photogs are coming to my hometown the first weekend in December (which is also my birthday!) to shoot some family pictures.

Even though it was sad and is kind of a hassle to retake these pictures, it gives everybody a reason to get together and a reason for me to wear my wedding dress again!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

thanksgiving throwback thursday.

Happy Thursday everyone!

This week has been SO long! It was the first week of my long term sub job and these six and seven year olds are wearing me out!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it made me think of some things I used to do in elementary school.

I'm sure we've all made one of these...the classic hand turkey!

And remember always having a pilgrim and Indian Thanksgiving play at school?

This week the kids in the first grade class I'm in made these...

They traced there feet and hands to make this super cute turkey!

I personally can't wait for Thanksgiving...spending time with the fam and yummy food!

Hope everyone is having a terrific Thursday!

just another manic monday.

Today has been an extremely long day!

I started my first day of long term subbing for a 1st grade teacher who just had her baby. The class is kind of a handful but we all made it through the first day in one piece :) I'll be subbing in this classroom until the middle of January. But at least I have Thanksgiving (1 week) and Christmas breaks (2 1/2 weeks) to break up my time!

I finally got back home around 4:00 and got to rest a little before J got home.

A few weeks ago, J saw me looking at and heard me talking about the very cute things that The Vintage Pearl makes. So what did he do? He ordered me this adorable necklace with 2 J's on it :)

It came in the mail today and I loooove it!

When J got home we cooked supper. When J was taking the chicken out of the oven, he put the Pyrex dish on our stove top and what do y'all think happened?

Yes...it shattered! Luckily it broke it to big pieces and the chicken was done!

After supper, we went to Wal-Mart. Now, Wal-Mart, especially in our town, is the worst. I only go there if I have to.

And I guess we had to since we wanted to look for a new dish and J needed a battery charger for the lawn mower.

And y'all know when you go into Wally World only going in for a couple of things you come out with more than you wanted.

J bought a CD and I got Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred for $10.

When we got home, I popped it in the DVD player and did the 20 minute Level 1 workout.

Y'all....that thing kicked my butt!!!

If you want a good workout you should definitely try it out! I'm going to try my hardest to do it every day. I feel like since her workouts are only 20 minutes I can fit that in my day. I wonder how long it'll take me to get to Level 3?!

Well, I'm finally off to bed so I can get up bright and early in 6 hours and brighten the minds of little angels in 1st grade tomorrow :)

Goodnight and hope everyone has had a marvelous Monday!
