But now I have some time since I'm laying in bed sick :(
I thought I'd let everyone know how J and I got engaged!
My mama, aunt, grandma, Jonathan, my dog Daisy, and I came to my family's mountain house in Mountain City, GA a few days before Christmas. On Saturday, we decided to go to Highlands, NC to eat lunch and do some shopping. Little did I know, Jonathan had bigger plans.
We went to this Christmas store that I love to go to every time we come. When we go outside the store, my mama started reminiscing about how when I was around 7 years old she and Daddy had taken a picture of me on this exact same bench. As she was telling the story, Jonathan said that he was going to run inside really quick. I didn't think anything of it since we were still waiting for my grandma and aunt to get out of the car. When he came back out he had a bag in his hands and told me he bought me something. I was wondering how he had picked out an ornament so fast but I took the box from him and began to open it.
Inside was an ornament that said "Jamie, will you marry me?" and also had the date on the bottom.
It turns out that earlier that morning, he had called ahead to the Christmas store and had them make the ornament. I immediately started crying and laughing at the same time. Jonathan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! All the while, the owners of the store were watching from inside, my aunt was taking pictures, and my mama, grandma , and Daisy were right there beside me.
It was perfect and I couldn't have asked for anything better!
